Type of Transitions
The Straight Cut -  straight to defferent cut, sudden change of change of shot from one view to another
The Match Cut - familar relationship between the shot make the change seem smooth
The Motivated Cut - used to show something to the view that is not imediatley visible
The Jump Cut - an abrurt switch from one scene to another
The Fade Cut - shows passing of time due to black screen also it is a smooth way of going from one scene
The Disolve Cut - used to show link because two scenes because they are both visible at the same time
The Reaction Cut - close up of someones emotional response to a certain event
The Wipe Cut -  one scene would slide off a screen while a different scene slides on

Screen Time
when a clip is put together the director decides is editing the footage for a tv show they decied how much some one appears and which characters does not this is important because it shows the importance or lack of importance of characters, eg disbillity if the disabled person has limited screen time it would give the appearence that they are a minority group and are of less importance.

Slow motion and Speed up
if a director decides to speed it up it is not important but if it is slowed down it shows importance to that part

Filters
Black or White - shows memory or flashback
Sepia - Vintage Look



Split Screen - two shots side by side
Circular Wipe - wipe image of screen like a fan
Animated Transform - Spin - image spins off or on
Distortion - blurry
Parrellel Cut - creates a link between two events
Iris - in or out of focus, depth of colours and depth of field
